About this venue
Stanley School in Pensby is Hayley’s main venue, running lessons across five days each week. It has two pools — the main teaching pool and a smaller hydro pool — which allows us to run sessions for different ages and abilities simultaneously.
The hydro pool is kept at a warmer temperature, making it ideal for our baby and younger children’s lessons. It’s a calm, private environment away from general public swimming — exactly the kind of setting new swimmers need to build confidence.
Stanley School is centrally located in Pensby, making it convenient for families from Heswall, Irby, Thingwall, and across the Wirral peninsula.

🚗 Getting There & Parking
Stanley School is at Greenbank Drive, Pensby, Wirral, CH61 5UE. From Pensby Road, turn into Greenbank Drive and drive to the very end. You’ll see the entrance to Pensby Primary School — drive in and follow the one-way road round. Stanley School entrance is on your left, with plenty of parking to your right.
Enter the building through the sliding doors at the main entrance to Stanley School and follow the signs to the Swimming Pool.
👋 Your first visit — what to expect
Changing rooms are available before and after lessons. We have separate changing rooms for main pool users (children’s lessons) and hydro pool users (baby lessons). If accompanying your child, use the changing room you would use yourself. Children over 8 should use the appropriate changing room for themselves.
We use the main pool on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for children’s lessons. We use the warm hydro pool on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for baby and parent & child lessons. Your teacher will direct you to the right poolside.
There is seating for parents and guardians on the poolside. Please do not leave the vicinity while your child is having their lesson. Your child’s lesson is 30 minutes and all equipment is provided — back floats, arm discs and woggles.
Girls to wear swimming costumes rather than bikinis. Boys to wear trunks or tight shorts — baggy shorts make it harder to move through the water. Long hair tied back, jewellery and watches removed.
If your child needs their own equipment for medical reasons, please contact us before their lesson so we can make the appropriate arrangements.
