About this venue

Calday Grange Swimming Pool is a well-established indoor pool in West Kirby, used by Hayley’s Swimming School for lessons across the week. It is one of our largest venues and the only one with a full 25-metre pool, making it ideal for our more advanced swimmers working on stamina and stroke technique.

The pool is privately used during Hayley’s lesson slots, creating a calm and focused environment away from general public swimming sessions.

πŸš— Getting There & Parking

Calday Grange Swimming Pool is located on Gourleys Lane in Newton, just off the B5192 between West Kirby and Greasby. The pool is a 5-minute drive from West Kirby town centre and easily reached from Hoylake, Greasby, and Frankby.

⚠️ Please do not park in Gourleys Lane. There is plenty of parking available on Column Road. Walk to the end of Gourleys Lane to reach the pool entrance.

πŸ‘‹ Your first visit β€” what to expect

🏊 Arriving at the pool

Walk down Gourleys Lane β€” you’ll see the pool at the end. Remove your shoes before entering the poolside or changing rooms. Take a seat poolside once you’re ready.

πŸ‘— Come “Beach Ready”

Arriving with your child’s swimming costume already on under their clothes (or a robe over the top) makes things much easier β€” especially for your first visit. Changing rooms are available before and after lessons.

πŸ”„ One-way system

When it’s time for the lesson, walk clockwise around the poolside to the class. Parents of beginner children β€” walk your child to their teacher and keep them with you until the teacher is ready. Follow the one-way system back to the spectator area.

πŸ‘€ During the lesson

Stay seated on poolside during lessons. Toilets are available in the changing rooms. Please do not leave the building while your child is having their lesson.

🏁 After the lesson

Each class will leave when instructed by the teachers. Meet your child at the meeting point next to the changing rooms, then proceed to the changing rooms or exit.

🩱 Swimwear

Girls to wear swimming costumes rather than bikinis. Boys to wear swimming trunks or tight shorts β€” baggy shorts make it harder to move through the water. Long hair tied back, jewellery and watches removed.

🩷 Not sure where to go? Look out for one of our teachers on poolside wearing a pink top (usually carrying a tablet) β€” they’ll be happy to show you where to go.

πŸ’³ Payments

To make a payment by bank transfer, please use the following details:

Sort code: 09-01-28
Account number: 54200934
